Travel Log June28th-July28th, 2011 Part 2

....After 'Mark' left me at Panera Bread I was there sitting for a bit waiting for Daniel, my Craiglist's Rideshare guy. He met me and his friend there to do a business meeting, which I later found out was done because I was there, and they were trying to get me into Market America. I just ate my soup in a bread bowl and tried as politely as possible to ignore/ decline the offer. After about an hour of awkward conversation while I tried to 'let them do their meeting and I could just go with him afterwards' we left. It was an interesting ride with this middle aged asian man talking about dance and intensity of emotion through dance or something like that. Haha. It was funny. Also about club hopping and ratios of men to women to get into a club for free or cheaper. Whatever the case, I got to Vegas at 2am where Doug picked me up at a hotel place parking garage. Only cost me $20, not bad at all. Stayed the night at Doug's and in the morning went to the Las Vegas Temple, much more my style than the scene I had beheld on the strip at 2am...haha. ( I love the fact that the parking lot is full. That's what it's supposed to look like!)

We left about lunchtime and headed to Phoenix. We listened to the audio book of Catching Fire, of the Hunger Games series. It was good. ( I only ended up hearing about 2/3rds of it). We stopped by the Hoover Dam for about an hour. I love that thing. I love it.

I need to spend a whole day there and just take it in. I really really love that thing. : ) Got to Tabitha's in Gilbert about 9pm and had dinner. Sunday morning we left to Scottsdale to go to President Smith's ward. It was a small ward relatively speaking, but with missionaries and their wives and such, there was quite a few. We ended up skipping Sunday School with everyone congregating about, and then in Priesthood, there were only four elders who weren't there for President Smith's homecoming. After church we went to President's house for lunch and socializing. Had BBQ pulled pork. It was fabulous. Thanks President and Sister Smith! I was able to get a ride back to Gilbert with Cameron. Stayed at Tabitha's for the rest of the time.

Went swimming a few times at 24 Hour Fitness, and also went to a few YSA activities. Swam a bit in her pool, scrubbed a little. Did my first dives in a really long time. Installed some baseboards and door trim, but not as much as I would've hoped. I slept far too much. Had some enlightening conversations on relationships with my sister and brother-in-law. I'm going to marry someone from Arizona according to him. Haha. Who knows!? Maybe! One of the YSA activities was a club type thing, and (beyond the fact it cost $10) it wasn't my taste at all, so I went swimming instead. Another YSA activity was a bunch of people at a house just talking. I am not big into that. Actually, I find it dull. I don't like socializing in larger groups. Nope. I don't like it. Well, a group with an agenda is one thing, but if no goal or purpose, there is a very dull feel about the group socializing to me! On the Saturday the YSA watched the Diamondbacks obliterate the Rockies in baseball. Then went to a few things after that, just food and house groups. Sunday was a cool fireside on the Pioneers at night.  I left on Thursday morning at 4am from Tabitha's to get to the airport. I stayed up the whole night on Wednesday so finished doing trim work about 3:45 before showering to leave. Flight from 6-8:45 (which is only because the hour jump ahead. It's a much shorter flight than that seems. I could see out the window the whole time and still see the topography most of the time, we never really went that high up).  Becca was generous enough to pick me up from the airport and then I began life at home again. That's my story! and I'm sticking to it! I don't think I missed much. I gave pretty microdetails... I will add pictures now. Hopefully I can figure it out. Have a lovely day/night!
